SALISBURY — A North Carolina Missions of Mercy dental clinic will be held March 6-7, 2026, at the Rowan Community Center, formerly West End Plaza, or the old Salisbury shopping mall.
A program of the North Carolina Dental Society Foundation, North Carolina Missions of Mercy clinics serve adults ages 18 and older who do not have access to regular dental care. Organizers at the Community Care Clinic of Rowan County and Rowan County Health Department anticipate providing free fillings, extractions, and cleanings to over 600 patients over the course of the Salisbury clinic. The clinics were previously held in Salisbury in 2013, 2015 and 2017.
“We’re excited to bring this event back to Salisbury,” said Dr. Brett Leslie, dentist for the Community Care Clinic of Rowan County. “Unfortunately, many of our neighbors can’t afford dental care. They may be experiencing pain, embarrassment or even poor overall health because of the condition of their teeth. We hope to help them smile a little brighter.”
To make the clinic a success, hundreds of volunteers are needed each day. While dental and medical professionals are essential, community volunteers are also critical for such tasks as setup, registration, patient support, volunteer hospitality, and many more.
“You do not need to be a dental or medical professional to volunteer. Whatever your background, we have a role for you,” Leslie said.
Volunteer registration will open 90 days prior to the clinic. Individuals and groups interested in volunteering may contact Leslie at bleslie@communitycareofrowan.org or 704-636-4523 with specific inquiries. More information about the program and the volunteer registration form can be found at https://ncdentalfoundation.org/programs/. Individuals seeking dental care do not need to register; dental care is provided on a first-come, first-serve basis.
The Rowan Community Center is located at 959 Jake Alexander Blvd W, Salisbury.
