Kim, Lee join FHP Health Center’s dental clinic | News

Dr. Jay Kim and Dr. Daria H. Lee have joined the FHP Health Center’s dental clinic.

Kim previously served as a general dentist at Apra Harbor Dental Clinic in Santa Rita, Guam, where he collaborated in the successful relocation and layout setup of a new dental clinic that focused on increasing dental productivity.

He also held positions at Naval Base Guam Branch Dental Clinic and Naval Branch Dental Clinic at Sewell’s Point in Norfolk, Virginia.

He completed his Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry at Boston University, graduating magna cum laude. Additionally, his training includes experience working under different specialties including endodontics, oral surgery, and prosthodontics, emphasizing his dedication to comprehensive dental care.

Kim has demonstrated expertise in CAD/CAM dentistry, enabling rapid turnaround of dental crowns, and successfully implemented Genesis in the dental department, ensuring seamless transition to military electronic health records.

He is licensed to practice dentistry in Guam and Virginia.

Kim holds BLS Certification from the American Red Cross. His achievements include achieving dental operational readiness of 97% for deployment of military service members with the highest production among Navy dental lieutenants and achieving the highest production among peers during his credentialing tour.

Dr. Daria H. Lee recently served as a Dental Officer in the US Navy at USNMRTC Guam and USS Osborne, where her expertise in restorative treatments, extractions, endodontics, and advanced dental procedures positively impacted numerous military personnel and their families.

She also held the position of interim department head, where she managed personnel, equipment, and developed Standard Operating Procedures for Infection Control. Lee’s extensive experience in these roles has made her a trusted dental expert in the field.

She completed her Doctor of Dental Surgery at University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry, where she also served as a floating instructor for the Explorations in Dentistry program, leading modules in Alginate Impression and Head and Neck Anatomy.

Additionally, her training includes specialized experience in CEREC/CADCAM technology and ceramic veneers, emphasizing her dedication to advanced dental care.

Lee earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with Honors from Michigan State University, where she developed skills in understanding patient behavior and communication.

Lee maintained 99% dental readiness for naval sailors and led patient safety audits throughout her military service. Her honors and awards include Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (2022), Patient Care Safety Champion Award from US Naval Hospital Guam (2021), Service Before Self Award – Officer Category (2020), and Certificate of Advanced Periodontology Clerkship (2018).

Lee is fluent in both Korean and English. She holds active dental licenses in both Guam and Michigan.

Her professional memberships include the Academy of General Dentistry, American Dental Association, and SPEAR Club, among others.
